Filmed by Philip Lowrey for Universal/Island,two live takes, during rehearsals for the BBC's Jools Holland Show in London in 2003. Philip edited out the cigarettes from the footage which was used to promote Robert's album. Features Alan Darby on acoustic twelve string and Robert's son, Jim on drums.Probably one of the last video sessions he did.

LOL... I shouldn't laugh but this is too ironic "I'm gonna sleep forever, why get up?" then he went back to his hotel room and died :(

A Beautiful but painful vignette of the challenged pathway faced by 'advantaged,' and over-expectant white males.

Sounds like " he IS in bed, and flatulent " with the tuba playing .,,, Real life song !

Now, I love Mr Palmer, but here he looked like his habits had taken their toll. And it was sadly prescient. I'm gonna sleep forever.....the eyes have it though.

Such an artisan with a great vocal range that could master almost any genre. He had perfect pitch too. Did an enormous amount of work for UNICEF and we have a wonderful body of work that he lives on through. RIP Robert - you were one of life's real gentlemen performers and are more missed with the passing years. I often wonder if the YTV prog 'My kinda people' that he made - a career retrospective, days before his death, will ever be shown. Hopefully, as a tribute to him, it will.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Listen to "Sneaking Sally Through The Alley" or anything from "Pressure Drop", RP was an amazing, subtle talent. De mortuis nil nisi bene, you twit.

Hi Sir Gideon, Great to hear you enjoyed Robert's music. He was a great talent and a good guy. Sneaking Sally album still stands up amazingly well. Philip

I discovered Mr. Palmer in the mid 80's through Power Station...and spent the next THREE YEARS catching up on his body of solo work. One of the best summers of my life was the summer in which I saw Mr. Palmer live TWICE (first in Charlotte NC and the second time in Chicago at the Riviera). Yes, I wept when he passed. Also, this song makes me think of the song "Trick Bag". :-)

Oh, Palmer smoked, I wondered what took him out - he died too young, but there's a reason - the shit's really bad for anyone, so glad my nephew finally quit - becoming a dad made the difference -
