I think both this live version and the studio version have their own strengths. But I can totally see why you'd prefer this version since he sounds particularly emotional in this Live in Vancouver concert.

I agree with you, he did over produce his studio songs. Even though he did that, I still like the studio version of this song more. His other studio songs were better live though.

I actually like this version better. I find his acoustic versions to be more raw, powerful, and lyrical. In the studio he tended to over produce. My humble opinion.
