Really cool to see this 'old' mid 1980s footage of interviews w/ Pat. Rare footage of him eating anything - he's notorious for fasting before playing. Didn't know he jogged everyday - guess that's how he keeps in shape on the road. There's another great clip of him driving on the interstate in a rental car towards the next gig, while drinking a can of Coke - Classic musicians commuting . That time was right when the PMG really exploded in popularity, crossing over for the Jazz crowd, and reaching whoever enjoys good music.

@fendweller I'm sure quite a lot has changed for Pat in the 25 years since this interview was conducted. He's that much older, he's recorded a lot more music and is much better known in part thanks to the internet and Youtube and he doesn't need to hob-nob with the crowd as much as he did when he was younger. It happens with every musician once they become a celebrity..

@fendweller Pat came outside to greet a small group of fans, shortly after a show a few years back. He seemed sleepy, so he was brief, but he thanked us for showing up. Doing this almost day in and day out has got to take its toll on a person. I don't know how he keeps it up, but I'm sure glad he does!!

Where did you get this video? Is that available for purchasing somewhere or did you get out of the broadcast?

I've tried talking to the band after the gig and I've mostly been shooed away by the venue staff. Other times, Pat just hasn't come out.
