TO CLIVE MAINWARING-I was very surpised when I started to read the second line of your comment, so familiar was the opening words, that I glanced at the 'name', expecting to be reminded, that I- had once left a comment here. I too, met Michael Holliday in Jersey, in June 1963. We walked into a Hotel bar, when I saw a man sitting on a high bar stool, talking to the barman, I approached him, and sure enough, it was HIM. I congratulated him on his success, told him how much I liked his TV show and recordings etc etc-and offered him a drink which he declined. We chatted a few minutes, and I asked when he was going to appear on TV again- but he excused himself and left with a couple, who had a car waiting for them, He seemed perfectly fine--and it was a terrific shock when I heard the news of his death, especially suicide. --in October I think. Great shame.

I loved Michael's voice then and I do now, this was when music was written with verse and chorus. I met and had a drink with Michael in Jersey at his summer season at Pontins Holiday Camp which it then was, sadly his last season in show business.I agree with Future Atom, why oh why Mike, thousands loved you, he actually met his own idol Bing Crosby who invited him to his home in the USA.Rest in peace Michael I bought most of your records, this one I played over and over and over.Wonderful memories of better times.Clive Mainwaring S/W France

whilst I was on holiday last week in Cornwall the hotel we stayed at had entertainment in the evening. One night was a singer/guitarist who played music from the 60's 70's 80's as well as songs of 90's and songs from 2000 up to this decades music. Also the original STORY OFMY LIFE BY MICHAEL HOLIDAY - completely different to the 1 DIRECTION SONG. WAS GREAT HEARING IT AGAIN. DIDNT KNOW MUCH ABOUT MICHAEL (BEING THAT I WASBORN IN THE EARLY 50'S) SAD THAT HE TOOK HIS OWN LIFE AT QUITE A YOUNG AGE. RIP MICHAEL
