I've actually found 3 Johnny Carson show segments where the group appeared. This is the second one which features Heart's Desire and Unchained Melody. Like the first tape, this is a 20+ year old VHS-EP speed done over the air on a mono-recorder. I believe it was 1982, possibly 1983. Tweaked the sound a bit different than the first segment I posted and I believe I brought the voices out a bit better. It won't win any rewards for audio restoration, but trust me, it's better than it was :)

I've always loved the Manhattan Transfer, and "Heart's Desire" is such a stunning example of their energy, enthusiasm, and ability to join all sorts of crazy dimensions of their talents together. I love Janis and Alan -- Alan just jumps with energy. I sure do miss Laurel Massie. Love Scotch and Soda so much and miss her singing it. Thanks for picking Hearts Desire!9 years назад

Saw them live in Cape Cod, Mass, and ran into them at a restaurant just before the show. Super friendly, easy going, very nice!14 years назад
