I've actually found 3 Johnny Carson show segments where the group appeared. This is the second one which features Heart's Desire and Unchained Melody. Like the first tape, this is a 20+ year old VHS-EP speed done over the air on a mono-recorder. I believe it was 1982, possibly 1983. Tweaked the sound a bit different than the first segment I posted and I believe I brought the voices out a bit better. It won't win any rewards for audio restoration, but trust me, it's better than it was :)

I've always loved the Manhattan Transfer, and "Heart's Desire" is such a stunning example of their energy, enthusiasm, and ability to join all sorts of crazy dimensions of their talents together. I love Janis and Alan -- Alan just jumps with energy. I sure do miss Laurel Massie. Love Scotch and Soda so much and miss her singing it. Thanks for picking Hearts Desire!8 years ago
