This might be THE version of the openly gay Billy Strayhorn masterpiece composition. I saw Johnny Hartman at Lurlean's on the Southside of Chicago sometime in the 70s I think. He came into the club to catch Lurlean Hunters set with a woman on each arm. They all looked good! Decades later my former wife and daughter and I went to see the Aids Quilt at the Dome in Minneapolis. There with the others was a quilted blanket by folks who cared about him, honoring Johnny Hartman. I don't know what all that means. I was in both places and saw both things.
