this has a good premise and beat but i see why the album failed cant take shots at some of the greatest artists of all time and expect no consequences still good song just had some unnecessary attacks on some great artists.

Gossert played *a lot* of LR in that 1970-71 period: a lot of Richard stuff on Modern Records and Okeh. He raved over the King of R & R album. I did not. As I say, there are 3-4 gems, that's it! Thanks.

I wouldn't be surprised if I heard it on another station too...WCBS-FM went oldies in 1973 (I remember listening at the exact minute they changed formats)...might well have been on the early playlist (I can't recall listening to Gus on anything but a mono portable radio, but immediately recognized the stereo mix the first time I heard it...did have a stereo by that time, at least)
