In general, cover songs are not as good as the original songs, and much rarer is the cover song that is better than the original which is the case of Linda Ronstadt's rendition of this classic Smokey Robinson song ! Matter of fact, ALL of Linda's covers of Smokey Robinson's songs are WAY BETTER than Smokey's ! Just my opinion...you go Linda ! Y que Linda eres, mujer !!!

I saw Linda in concert 7 different times between 1971 and 1977. The first time was, easily, the best. It was in the Spring of 1971 at the dumpy little Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, CA, near the H.B. Pier. I had just returned from Vietnam in November '70 and was trying to catch up on life lost. The Bear had sawdust on the floor and probably didn't seat 150 people but Linda just blew us all away that night. She ended her set with "Silver Threads & Golden Needles," It was awesome.
