I agree with the fav comments but something happened to make her change direction and go to singing ballads/standards just after this release. Even Linda has stated that she can't listen to her earlier singing as it sounded like shouting. Wish she didn't say that as I viewed this last album"Mad" as her swan song to her early career as a rocker. I think it was the last of her California days and the "Wrecking Crew." Would like someone to comment on that. Frankly, her fans grew older and she made the right choice even with the success of this album. Her voice sure sounded lusher to me as she grew older and perfomed standards and duets. Frankly, I don't know any female that sang so successfully over so many genres of music. On this day in 1980 {September 13th} a video of Linda Ronstadt performing "How Do I Make You" was aired on the syndicated TV program 'Solid Gold' Seven months earlier on February 2nd it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, eventually it peaked at #10 & spent 16 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #15 on the Canadian RPM Singles chart... This 'Solid Gold' show was its debut episode, it ran until July 23rd, 1988 with a total of 332 episodes...
