I use to sing this to my daddy I was 8 he drank badly so I took my money I bought the 45rpm record & sung it to my Daddy in hopes he'd stop sadly he didn't & died at age 47 I was 10 it will be 43 yrs 8/6 I wish he would of listen with his heart & not just his ears he knew the song heck he'd sing with me.

All of these new guys who think everything has to be sung in the key of B, should try this in F like they are playing and see if you can get any volume out of your voice when you say "Go Home" in that low register. Most folks, including me, can't even make it auduble. Lester was the man - miss them both everyday.

my Daddy use to get really drunk & sing this we had it on a little 45 rpm record it was red. I lost my Daddy 8/6/1970 I had just turned 10 3 weeks before I still miss him today But the sad part he lost out on watching his kids grow up & his grand & great grand kids
