Lyrics: In the time we spent together

Many words have passed between

And the feelings that we shared are all behind us now

'Cause a change has come upon me

And I'm surly not the same

There is so much more than what we feel and live every day

(Chorus)

Relentless, unchanging

Though the world is still before me now

I'm seeing forever

I will keep my heart and mind with you

So joyously I'm waiting for the day

In a single timeless moment

When the old was cast away

The new was born into a world of simple joy

And my life is still for living

Though it's seen through different eyes

And the knowledge of the truth's

A burden easy to bear

(Chorus)

It's drawing so near

It's shrouded in mystery

Histories fall, the end of an age

The feeling we're waiting for, hoping for

Now, the time to come alive

The end to which we strive

Will soon arrive

(Bridge)

Now the gift is truly given

If you only would receive

For you're standing in the crossroads

And you can't turn back

Though we can't conceive forever

And it's sometimes hard to care

Our lives do not compare to what's awaiting us there

(Chorus)

When did they put this cut out? Dont remember if this shit was out when I saw them, Styx opened up and Kansas blew them off the damn stage, hands down. I dont want to get on the gay tip, but is that cat on the keyboard the same cat that was back in the day singing lead? If so he busted as hell now and he got the girls back in the day, hope he lived that shit up

Love this song! So encouraging. Except the drum track. Waaaaay too busy. But other than that, perfect.

Folks can't believe that Steve did shows in short shorts and striped knee socks. Obviously they were not alive in the late 70s when that was the style!!!!!! BTW, great shot of Rich in a beret...................

this is for the kids, younger than40, this band is incredible because there never was,is,never been any ego involved in their music, they were magic,a bunch of masestro's assembling in kansas, in the early 70's,destined to be legends, they have rocked the world,i always caled their music rock opera,as they were master musicians few could touch, can't talk about just anyone of them as they are all equal in talent from drummer to lead vocals, they had friendship and respect for each others abilities and damn it ,it shows

It's a common malady among Sheeple.

It needn't, but it does, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. And the reason people "stopped" listening to 40's music is usually they never heard of it or just didn't give it a chance ;-)

Like THE WHO said "THE MUSIC MUST CHANGE"

11 years назад

455Transam

Yeah but very few people under 30 listen to The Stones or AC/DC. How many people are left on this Earth that listen to Big Band Music from the 40's?? Very few.

Kansasforlife

Well that's very simplified. It's not like AC/DC, the Stones etc did suddenly become irrelevant. If a great band keeps making great music, they will always have their fans.

Music changed grundge came on the scene, it wouldn't have mattered what KANSAS did or any other Rock band.

KANSAS wasn't your typical Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll band....they were deeper than that.

Wow, I wish everyone who isn't into Kansas' style was so rational about it! :-)

I just never got Kansas, couldn't understand it, but im a fair person, I am willing to say , maybe my mind was not ready for it, its complicated arraignments and and progressive. very intense, as a musician I can appreciate them, they're very talented and put on am incredible show.

That is exactly what I think! Even though I know Kerry is a great person, and his lyrics are what a whole lot of people like so much about Kansas, he should have found another way to express his beliefs, maybe starting his solo career a little earlier, as a side project. I always wondered what the way of the band in the 80's and 90's may have looked like if Kerry had been a member all along (even though I love the stuff with Morse and Elefante as well)...

It was pretty good for the direction the band was heading. But Kerry's insistence on making religions songs really drove the band apart. If they could have got through that they may have had a better career in the 80.s Les Streets and AD and More Kansas.

I saw Kansas open up for Mahogany Rush and Queen in Charleston, SC back in March of '75. They opened up with "Can I Tell You?" and ended with "Death of Mothernature Suite". They had not yet released Masque but they did play "Song for America". Went to see Queen and ended up hooked on Kansas. Many lost braincells later, that particular concert remains as one of my alltime favorites.

Me too, although it was a little further down state in Dayton.

Reminds me a lot of my own experiences. I was about the same age, 13 I think, and was literally the only one in the entire school who had even really heard of them. People also kept mocking me a little because they didn't understand how one could be so passionate about a non-mainstream band, but in the end their music turned me into who I am today, for which I am really grateful :-)
