I wanna make a small community with Gaelic as its first language. Who's with me?

Gaelic or Goidelic originated in Ireland in the 7th century and then spread to Scotland where it became the dominant language during the middle ages. Gaelic is still spoken in parts of Canada's east coast province of Nova Scotia, by Scottish descendants like my own family, especially it's small & relatively isolated island of Cape Breton. There is even a Gaelic college on Cape Breton so that young & older people alike may learn the very difficult language along with many other customs including the famous Point Dancing. This is a lovely romantic song that I shall post the lyrics here for all to see. Lanna-Rose ~ "On a quiet evening at the beginning of MayWhen the bat was in the skiesI heard a tearful young maidenSinging beneath the shadow of the green branchesThe sun was setting in the seaAnd no stars yet graced the skyWhen the young girl sang sorrowfully"My love is on the high seas" The night's dew began to fallEach bloom yielding softly to the dropletsThe wind blew in a fragrant breezeBringing life and renewal to each fieldThe girl tunefully sang her songQuiet and peaceful like the June dewAnd this chorus constantly repeated"My love is on the high seas" Day darkened and the stars shoneSetting their course amongst the cloudsThe maiden sat, burdened by her sadnessHer singing could not have been more soothingI moved closer to the young womanSinging of her love sailing on the seaOh sweet was her sad lament"My love is on the high seas" The music enticed meNearer to the brown-haired maiden of the warm eyesAnd she prayed to the King of Heaven"Protect my love on the high seas"Her heart was breaking with loveWhen I took her by the hand"Wipe your eyes, your love is safeI have returned to you from the high seas"

I believe that this is true music. For example I don't understand the words because I don't speak the language, but I do understand the feeling of this song because of the emotions and spirits of her singing.

@Angus MacLellan. I agree, Julie Fowlis is a beautiful singer, and I love her. but for the record the word "paddy" is an extremely offensive term, and you shouldnt be slagging us off, because if it wasnt for us, you wouldnt have these lovely traditions, this music and this beautiful language. newsflash: your culture is a direct copy of ours! even the name Scotland comes from the Irish tribe Scoti. think on that next time you refer to us as "paddys"

Celtic woman is plastic paddy stuff, nothing like Julie Fowlis - a classically trained Scottish artist.

The most beautiful language... I really must learn to speak it! Then maybe I could memorise the songs she sings. :)

When night's dew began to fall, Each bloom yielded to the droplets; Blew the wind so fragrantly bringing life through each field. And how the girl kept singing ~ quiet and peaceful like June's dew ~ and this chorus quoth she more: "My love, he is on the sea"
