A riogain uasail is irish, not scottish. Julie just sings her verses in scots gaelic. It was a poem written by the same irish poet who wrote "mo ghile mear." mo ghile mear personifys Scotland (more accuratley Bonny Prince Charlie) and a riogain uasail is Ireland, the fair queen.

Just curious, what's the relation between this song and Mo Ghile Mear? They're both so look alike, the language's the only thing that changes from the version I usually hear.

To my ear, the voices and melody are lovely. Human senses are not uniform. We all see colours a little differently, hear sounds a little differently, experience flavours a little differently. So, why pass some kind of absolute judgement based on your own bodily functions? It would be like me saying that all people who like cilantro are stupid and have no taste, just because the stuff is bitter to MY tongue. Unfortunately, Ms. Fowlis may have made herself vulnerable to fairytale visuals like this one being paired with her voice, due to having the poor judgement to take a job singing for a Disney cartoon-movie.

Have praised other of their stuff. But I´m not sure about this. No, it's awful. And the graphics are even worse. Hobbitland. At least they underline the cheesiness of the singing. As I said, I´m a fan of both, individually and together. But this crap crossed the line. (Where's Enya?)

Learn Scottish Gaelic, it's very easy if you learn a little Latin. We still speak Gaelic quite a bit in Glasgow. Some think it is a forgotten language, I say, "Ha!"
