"Language of Love" (backed with "Dartling Jane") was released in the U.S. as RCA Victor 7938 and reached #32 over a nine week chart run beginning November 6, 1961. John wrote "Tobacco Road," "Indian Reservation," Waterloo" and many other great songs and as a vocalist recorded some first rate stuff ("Angela Jones," "Road Hog," "Callin' Dr. Casey," "Blue Train," "Thou Shall Not Steal," etc.).

In Europe it appeared as single with The Token´s "The Lion Sleeps Tonight as the A-side, which struck just as well. Maybe that's the explanation? Maybe the same in U.S.?

like this one by him when i found the 45 of this song in 1984.he also had a top 40 hit(under the name JOHNNY DEE) with his version of SITTIN' IN THE BALCONY''.

John wrote and recorded as 'Johnny Dee' in the late fifties. So I guess that's the D origin!

One of favourites. Does anyone kwow where the "D" stands for? John placed a big stone in the river of music to change the current!

I've just had a look on 45cat.com and 'The Guitar Player' appears as an Australian issue from 1963 backed by 'Bad News'

Has anybody happen to have a copy of John D's 1963 song "The Guitar Player" (Aka Her & Him) came out on RCA numbered 8154? it was (I think) a "B" side track to one of him big hits, please help if you can.
