I disagree. It is clear that the lyrics DO NOT mean the Sintflut. Wouldn't make any sense. It is a euphimism for Death (the flood that ends the existence of the singing alter ego) as a result of despair and gloom that this is the only and "the best of all worlds" (Leibniz), and that there won't be another world or a second chance even though he doesn't like it and feels he misses out in his life etc. It is also not common in German to shorten Sintflut to Flut.

"Marvellous powers" (as was given by xellossaxon) is correct and good. Also, "die Flut" is a common short for "die Sinnflut" (the deluge) and I take that this is what they mean. Not Flood, but rather Deluge!

Mmmm... I respect the effort put into the translation, but just listening in to the first few minutes, I've already caught a bunch of mistranslations: First line: "Wenn ich in mir keine Ruhe fühl'" = "When I feel no peace inside." Later: "ruf' ich mir herbei den einen Traum, der sich niemals erfüllt." = "I call to myself the one dream that is never fulfilled." And it goes from there. But it's really good!
