There is a certain element missing from guitar music today everybody can shred but where is the self expression and the freedom to break new ground Hendrix changed guitar and how we looked at it this song can stand next to any song of today with out a doubt

0:00 - 2:27 this is the rhythm guitar, not lead, Jimi Played both rhythm and lead I do not know how this is achieved in concerts. their is rhythm lead, and bass(another artist) the consistency is usually done by three artists, not two. I love how he does the extreme pitch shifts. staple to good '60's music totally lacking today. I always require a pitch wheel on a keyboard purchase, my instrument of choice.

This sounds like calculus to me, all I know is it sounds orgasmic. A minor pentapolene?

paulgilbertmi, thank you very much! Excellent explanation and very useful that you threw in enough theory to help make sense. One thing I mention for everyone's interest--when you play way up in the 17 fret or higher, you are well into the Strat's lower body cutout. Since Jimi played the guitar body upside down, I never noticed but how does he get that far up on the neck when the upper cutout doesn't go in that far? I'll have to look closer at Jimi playin... Thanks again, I'll look for more lessons from ya.

These lessons are by far the most accurate for Hendrix that ive seen. Does anyone know if the lesson for "hey joe" is available from these guys? or if this whole instructional video pack is available anywhere? thanks for any info you can pass along.

I'm with you bro'. I've learned a lot off of YouTube but have had a hell of a time on occasion doing so but, this is the BEST lesson on YouTube. Hands down! I wish they all would teach with this guys approach. For you naysayers and negative people out there, this is the opinion I'm entitled to under the Constitution of the United States of America!

That comment is funny in a way, but also sounds kind of a little racist. :P either way great video guys!
