I agree. As countless interviews have confirmed, Mr. Tillman had little to do with the song writing in Fleet Foxes. So, based on what Tillman actually contributed in the band, a position like that can easily be filled by someone more focused and passionate about strictly drumming. On the other hand, J. Tillman is way too talented to pass up the opportunity. What did you think of his new album?

J. Tillman has more to offer than drum beats and harmonics. I'm glad he got the opportunity to play with Fleet Foxes - probably would have never heard of him otherwise, but he is so good at what he does. I mean it would be great if he did play with Fleet Foxes still, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd rather he do his own thing. Have you listened to his new album?

Robin Pecknold is definitely one of those voices as well in music; I just think J. Tillman has more to offer than drum beats and harmonics (clearly).

Me too! His previous work was great before he met up with Fleet Foxes, but the Father John Misty rout looks really promising and more adventurous to me. I was able to see him and his crew in D.C, it was an amazing performance from start to finish. I like a lot of different artist that I consider to be awesome in their craft, but ever now again I find a really special musician that precisely communicates some of the deepest aspects of human existence. Mr. Tillman clearly is one of those voices.

@davemum As far as I know Tillman didn't have much to do with Fleet Foxes first two album's song writing. He just said he tried to put the best drum part to Pecknold's songs. I am excited about the new album though, and hopefully more involvement on Tillman's part. Its wonderful and unfair that so much talent should be concentrated.

Extremely under rated artist in my opinion. Nothing more special than a man and his guitar. Beautiful.

Oh, I thought you meant in a condescending way, that he MADE Fleet Foxes who they were, that's why I was saying they work as a group. I would actually like to hear him sing some lead vocals or write some material maybe on the new album?

i mean that he's the drummer and has such a great voice. he's irreplaceable. i really like fleet foxes, i'm not dissing the band in any way.
