Just my personal thoughts, but I would submit that J. Geils himself, along with Martin Barre of Jethro Tull, remain two of the most underrated rock guitarists of all time. Jerome (actually John) played an interesting blend of jazz, funk, blues and rock.

I was standing right in front of J.Geils for this whole show. About the 10th time I was seeing J.Geils..18years old..oh so long ago. I was going to to University Santa Cruz. Went on to see J.Geils many more times. But this show always stands out. It was right before Winterland was closing. Bill Graham was telling the audience J.Geils can play as long as they want. And they did. Faye was there with her entourage..yeah...!!! Thx 4 posting!!
