Guy Lombardo was the leader of probably the most commercially successful dance band of all time and active for more than 40 years. The band was named Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians. The Lombardo Brothers, Guy, Carmen, and Lebert formed the band as youngsters in Canada and Guy was installed as leader. By 1925, they played vaudeville in Cleveland appearing at Lake Road Inn and other spots in the area. Next to New York then to Chicago followed by active recording for Columbia, Brunswick, Victor and Decca. Carmen wrote many of the arrangements, played lead saxophone and was principle vocalist. Brother Lebert was lead trumpet and brother Victor who joined the band in the early 1930s played baritone sax and flute.
