issa's adopting the persona of the "well-meaning liberal" in order to call attention to the absurdity of, sort-of, qualified pro queer stances in favor of more staunchly leftist liberatory politics. same way jello biafra does in songs like "kill the poor". way less boring than just saying "I'M PRO THIS" or "I'M ANTI THIS".

I think it's making fun of people who say they're not homophobic because they have gay friends, but don't actually advocate for equal rights for gays. It's similar to how people will say "I can't be racist! Some of my best friends are black!"

@bigman1225 i think they're ridiculing another person's perspective. "I'll talk the talk while you fight the fight, I say I'm down but that's where it ends" not sure, im confused by this too.
