After his incredible debut single for MAM Records NOTHING RHYMED in 1970 everyone eagerly awaited to see what came next from this new star Gilbert O`Sullivan . So when this second single came out in early 1971 many people must have been rather puzzled. What happened to the Gilbert of Nothing Rhymed ? Was he just a one-hit wonder ? As a result here in the UK the record buying public weren`t too impressed and the song just scraped into tho Top 40 for a short time . Gilbert soon bounced back however with ` WE WILL` , NO MATTER HOW I TRY ` , ` ALONE AGAIN ( NATURALLY ` and all the rest that we know and love . Looking back now it isn`t really a bad record - but a very strange choice as a follow-up to NOTHING RHYMED . Most `Greatest Hits` compilations tend to leave this one out and it does tend to be forgotten these days. I think the best thing about this recording isn`t the lyrics - but the great rock`n`roll piano playing from Gilbert !
