This fantastic recording came as quite a suprise for Gilbert fans in the summer of 2008 . Gilbert was on the road promoting his " Scruff at Heart " album and a few weeks before his Glastonbury Festival appearance it was announced that this song was available as a download only track from iTunes. It had nothing to do with the " Scruff " album - and certainly sounded completely different to that material . It had a great summery feel to it and was certainly a " radio hit " here in the UK , being played every day on BBC Radio 2 . It`s a pity it didn`t make the charts - it certainly deserved to !

HA HA ! No i don`t have the lyrics - i have just been listening very closely - there are still a few that are so fast i can`t make them out ! I am sure he`s only having fun with the Germans !15 years назад

Interesting observation Barry - I had`nt noticed that ! It wouldn`t suprise me - I`ve heard him say he keeps unfinished song lyrics for years and only completes them just before he decides to record them, so that he can update them and keep them fresh. I agree this is a classic " Gilbert " track - it`s amazing he can still turn out material like this so many years after his first successes.15 years назад

I`ll work on that - There are so many great lyrics in this song , it`s only when you`re looking for images to fit the song that you realise how clever and good they are ! Apparently this might also be on his new album !15 years назад
