I had a dream two nights ago that Dan Fogelberg wrote a song with the same melody as this Eagles song but never got recognized for it, and the way I proved it is by sleeping in my bed, and having my dad's girlfriend's nephew walk inside my bedroom and skim through a pile of belongings sitting on top of a dresser on the right side of the room. I was like "Keep looking, the proof's here somewhere!" lol

Maybe the reason Glen didnt sing this track is because he lacked the vocal range he wrote the key in- randy has a higher register than glen that is for sure- Randy made this track his own despite glen penning it- I wouldnt be surprised if Jackson Browne shared in collaboration glen admitted that he learned to write because of browne so it would make perfect sense to me.

It is Randy singing. Not only is it is a known fact, but his voice is unmistakable.It is Glenn frey who wrote the song, though, not Randy. Why Frey didn't sing it himself has always been a mystery to me.Not that there's something wrong with Randy as such, I just wonder why since it's one of the few songs that Frey wrote himself during the Eagles without any collaborator and Randy usually only sang his own songs.

Randy wrote some of the best Eagle's songs! He was a great bass player and fantastic vocalist. His voice is a nice contrast to that of Frey and Henley.

Just for the record, I've seen the Eagles documentary, I know all the sordid detail; Randy Meisner didn't walk out on the band, he was driven away by toxicity and ominousity, hostility of those who shall not be named Amazing musician, mad respect

I would love to see all the past members come together and sing just once. Randy Meisner, Bernie Leadon and Don Felder greatly contributed to the timeless songs we all know and love. So has Timothy B. Schmidt in the group's current configuration. However, the secret to the Eagles longevity is the core of the group, Don Henly, Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh has stayed together. Randy is great in 'Take it to the Limit' and this song, but I miss the sounds of Bernie and Don Felder the most.
