I hate to be a stickler, but Buddy Clark died on October 1st, 1949, so he couldn't have recorded it the following December.

I know ! I was trying to find pictures of Doris and Buddy together .. none to be found ! I had a hard time finding any pictures of Buddy at all. He had such a wonderful voice. He did die tragically young. Happy you enjoyed this song form Doris and Buddy !! Have a great week !

It's shame that I can't find many songs of Buddy here, I love his voice and the way to interpret the songs. Amazing duet with two of my favourites singers. Thanks for sharing Day. Warm regards from Brazil, dear.

I'll put the notes on this song. I've been trying to get them on all my uploads. I have to agree. I love Buddy's voice. So sad he died so tragically. I think he and Doris sounded so good together. So happy you enjoyed !

Attention should also be paid to the subtle, yet swinging arrangement. Possibly by George Siravo, who also arranged some of Frank Sinatra's best work for Columbia records. Buddy Clark also recorded duets with Dinah Shore. Great voice.

It really is all that you said .... they really sounded so great together. Very relaxed and natural. They did several songs together and always sounded great. A couple of silly songs but they sure made them fun. Happy you enjoyed !

It is jazzy, great duets, swinging, relaxed, positive and virtuosi solos....what else can we want from a piece

@Heand22 I really love his voice. He and Doris sounded so good together ... so relaxed ! Awhile back I read up on Buddy and was so surprised to hear how he died. What a freaky thing. Too bad .. he really was great. So happy you're enjoying these songs.

What a great song! I remember Gene Autry doing it in a movie. Would sure like to find that version too.

I think Doris and Buddy sound great together. They compliment each other - I love all their songs. I really didn't know what happened to Buddy. I'll have to google him and learn more. Thank you for your great comment. Your Mom had good taste !!

Doris Day was my mother's favourite female singer, and I remember she had this as a 45 with another duet with Buddy Clark. (Silly me, I gave all my mother's 45s to the Salvation Army after she died). Doris's voice has her wonderful (trademark) "sunshiny" quality here, and she sounds just great with Buddy Clark. How sad that he was killed so tragically not long after this song was recorded, just when his career was in high gear ... what a loss to popular music!
