Not to be confused with the jazz musician, this Wichita Falls, TX born singer, amateur and pro golfer had his biggest hit with "Band of Gold" (1955). Don got his start working with bandleader Tommy Dorsey and later enjoyed a fruitful musical relationship with Ray Conniff. "Just a Drop of Rain" was written by Larry Kusik and Eddie Snyder who also composed the lyrics for "A Time For Us" from Romeo & Juliet, the music composed by Nino Rota.
