My mother introduced me to Bowie back in 2002. I never really had a knack or open mind for "older music" presented by my own folks, but I put aside my ego because I knew it was good. I gave Space Oddity and Hunky Dory a try and realized the powerful grip of old school and a former generation's taste of music: bloody brilliant - and without it, there would be nothing of what we hear today.A few years later and I have most of Bowie's discography, I vainly practice guitar, and I buy the Heathen album and grow accustom to "Everyone Says Hi" and fall in love with "Slow Burn"; it's the anthem of a relentless struggle, or like waking up in the morning and forcing yourself to go to work. It's nice to know an artist can still continue his work, his craft, for those of this generation and yesteryear's generation to listen to. Bowie started in 1969 (actually earlier, if you count before the Space Oddity album) and STILL makes music today. I would give you a better comment to read, but impulse pressed the keys. TL;DR - Bowie is $#%ing amazing, no matter when you were born.
