This song rips my heart open whenever I hear it. My mother died on 11/6/88. I am 42 and that loss just never goes away. I am a lucky one since I got to have my mom for 17 years. yes thats too short but so many others do not even get that chance. I say this with tears in my eyes since I still miss her so much.

my dad gave me this record (45) in 1978 i believe, i was about the same age as the little boy in the song.. since then i always appreciated great song lyrics. Funny how music can touch your soul even as a child.
