Lost my father when I was 15,2nd oldest of 7.Lived in a house similar to this one,a guy gave an old lawnmower and I used go to the ritzy neighborhoods and cut grass for my money for clothes etc.When mom went to the home in '90 I found my old metal gas can in her shed.I'm in my '60s now but I use it still,brings back memories .I still remember the good times in that old house.Had a pic took of me in front of it when I was visiting the old town just days before it was torn down.

I'm sorry that you had to live through something so awful. I would have done something to help if I had known your family and I know that there are many other people that would too. Talk about memories I'd rather forget, but need to remember sometimes too. I do remember well when me, my four siblings and my mom were told we had a month to come up with what seemed like a zillion dollars or we had to get out. Timmy was dying with spinal meningitis and all our "wonderful" friends and neighbours all of a sudden were too busy with their own stuff to even bother offering their fucking garage to us for a place to sleep. Well fuckers, Timmy's gone, but we're all still here.
