This song is probably the best example of Chan's early sound, coming out of the new york noise scene with bands like Sonic Youth she had a similar gritty style in her instrumentals, (Steve Shelley did drums on her first two albums) but with a vocal style that's all her own. This song is so good it actually appears on both her first two albums, which were recorded on the same day.
