Who'd have thought that a technical question would lead me chasing down Caedmon tonight. I'll 'splain...I'm working on a dubstep remix of I am A Man of Constant Sorrow (from O' Brother Where Art Thou -- yes it is much older... but... LoL, yeah.) So I have the tune and I am trying to get it beat matched in Logic and find I am lost... I stumble through a few Google searches and find myself on James Bisset's 50th Anniversary Blog reading his well rendered tutorial on exactly how to do this arcane task.... an hour later I have a passable beat-match, and a clear path forward! (Thanks James!) So I go back to the blog and start poking around... who is this crazy Scott? Several hours go by as I explore James' take on his music career; his story and I find I'm compelled to come here and roll through some of the most amazing 'acid folk' I have ever heard. The unraveling of a single thread from 30 years of history and finding a fantastic album that helps explain (for me, at least) odd fusion bands like Duran Duran, Marillion and quite a few others that appeared in late 80's and early 90's. For me this body of music is like finding a missing link to a style of music that I came to appreciate long after most of the names became obscure. So here I am.
