yes i was stationed in Japan in 78....and i love listening to BW Stevenson...and this Japanese girl Yoko I wanted to marry but i was only 19....and on a naval vessel that went out to sea very often and eventually we lost contact...but "My Maria" so reminds me of Yoko Iriomote

This such an awesome song to me...Timeless. Only regret it wasn't longer running time. In the day a long song wasn't ok to have long songs/some exceptions. .Guess that is ok just have to play it over and over..
