Ditto. Think it was the 1981 Monsters Of Rock though where AC/DC headlined. Stunning performance and the standout band of the festival that year for me. I managed to record it on tape when Tommy Vance played it on the Friday Rock Show (Radio 1).

hey hanterman, saw them on the same tour in Belfast, April I think it was, in a small scale leisure centre venue, like you, I was blown away by them, and like you, they will always hold a special place in my heart, cause they were one of the few bands never mind American bands, who visited the place in the dark days when the mayhem was at full tilt Thanks for posting, 777 this takes me back 30 years - I appreciate it

Southern Rock was, and is, still the best! And these guys could get it done!

@thehanterman1 So true--saw them 2 or 3 times, one of the tightest, hardest hitting live bands ever. After the first time I remember leaving wondering if I'd really witnessed something so amazing. Rick was a super charismatic frontman and the whole band was such a tight unit.

1982 introduced me to Blackfoot at the MOR festival Donington UK. Blew the place apart and have had a place in my heart ever since. Live this band were just total energy and anyone who saw them would come away a fan. Just a pity a record company obsessed with image and what the latest fads were totally destroyed them. Jackson Spires RIP

Blackfoot is a perfect model and representative of everything that is Southern Rock. I seen these guys back in the early eighties at an outdoor concert in North Alabama featuring AC/DC, Blackfoot, and Mothers Finest. I am rather surprised that Skynyrd has not utilized the talents of Ricky Medlocke more by maybe doing a few Blackfoot songs with him up against the microphone. That could only add excitement and pleasure to an already pumped up crowd of concert going Rock Fans. IMHO.

Blackfoot was indeed greatness! Saw them a few times...with Nugent once and the definately blew that egomaniac away big time! Actually every time I saw Nugent the back up blew his ass away.Love the Amboy Dukes stuff and that first Nugent lp though..after that he's lame. The original Blackfoot was NEVER lame!!!!
