There styles are different but Billy Joel's voice is eerily similar to Eltons. Billy Joel's hit Big Shot I actually thought was Elton when i first heard it.

Love both. I've seen both in concert multiple times . Elton gets the nod because he OWNED the 1972-1976 music charts. To have an album be #1 before it's released is amazing.

Billy Joel has admitted several times that Elton John is a much more accomplished piano player than he is. I have seen both and it is clear, Elton is the better piano player and most certainly has the better voice.
