Barbra Streisand's version of "Home" is far superior to Diana Ross', as well as the incredible Broadway soundtrack from Stephanie Mills. I've decided, IMO, when it comes to vocals, NOBODY comes close to Ms. Streisand. Earlier in her career, she possessed an almost-unheard-of five octave range. The fact that she can still belt out torch songs and sing the sweetest ballads at age 70 ("Back to Brooklyn" tour) proves her voice is like nothing we have been blessed with before, or will be again.

Her voice is so evocative and expressive. Barbra infuses so much emotion and coloration into the song and gets inside every note. This sounds like an early take. Too bad she didn't do more and include it on TBA.

just so show tune in delivery sorry folks I love babs, her Way we Were and Evergreen are untouchable but this missed badly. Very whitened version of a big song, that oddly sounded too big for babs. Somehow Diana Ross had a much more fierce performance, yes her voice not as trained as Babs but Diana had much more raw emotion, more so than Stephanie and Whiteny too.

I remember seeing The Wiz at the Ahmanson Theater and being thrilled by this song - the finale to the show. I like Streisand's interpretation very much.

Just incredible. What a fantastic time capsule and opportunity for all to hear this great performer as she were back in the Seventies. Barbra earned her legendary status every step of the way. This recording truly illustrates not just the fact that Barbra Streisand has a beautiful and God given vocal ability, but also what a true and pure, well prepared and emotionally connected performer she has always been.
