I first heard this song from the Bangles Summer 1986. They sing it the best. Michelle Steele with the huge hair very mid 1980s-ish.

I think the Bangles' inclusion of September Gurls on Different Light did more for the resurrection of Big Star than anything else.Certainly for me, as an 80s kid, I had no idea who they were, but I had to look up this "A. Chilton" listed in the liner notes, and discovered the magic of Big Star (well actually some years later but still...)
