Maybe slightly over the top, as Payne often liked to perform, but I can live with this version. The GTR version was more spartian, certainly not bad. The total GTR album however was not at all of the quality level I was hoping for, when this new "superband" was announced. It certainly was no match for Asia.

Better than the original version'87. John Payne is poor singer, but he was fitting with this song. His best tune. Jeff Downs' keyboard gimmick was many point in this number.

Actually there is no "original" version of this song, only diferent usages and arrangements of "Hunter", which was composed by G.Downes for the third Asia album which came out completely different because of the personal changes in the line-up. There was more songs for that album which are now in demos or have been used in various projects like Icon for ex...

This is the version which I first heard back in around 1998-1999 on a CD my dad has of Asia's best hits. Best in my opition.

I love this version... Payne's voice is obviously different but it is pure and neat. (he's another person, has his own voice, seems Wetton lovers want to have Wetton's voice in every single song played on planet earth)

A tidbit, John Payne met Steve and Geoff during the original GTR sessions through his friend Phil Spaulding and in fact did some engineering work on the GTR album. And thanks all for the support! No it isn't. The original version was done by the band GTR. Steve Howe was briefly a member of that band and Geoff Downes wrote this song. Hence why he is performing it with John Payne era Asia . In fact GTR existed before John Payne era Asia did.
