well, yeah they're literal in the sense that she says explicitly says that she WOULDN'T kill anyone, but she would "kill" in the figure of speech / hyperbole sense of the word just to get the subject of the song to show some kind of emotion to her. i mean, nowhere in the song does she imply actually murdering, i thought the song was pretty straight forward.
