You guys act like the house band just randomly jumps in to take the spotlight. You know they rehearse this stuff in the afternoon before they go on, right? They wouldn't have played had ZZ Top not wanted them to.

Found it on some forum years ago while reading up on the recording of Deguello. As I recall it was from someone involved in the recording. I love all this stuff, wonder if anybody knows any more!

It's always neat to see how Paul and the band backs the musical acts, as well! Just enough to help, but not enough to attract too much attention to themselves. Of course, with ZZ Top onstage, there's not much to worry about there!
