Okay, here is the real history. The Mechanix was originally written by Dave Mustaine while he was in a band called, Panic. He later brought the song to Metallica with him. If you go back and listen to the "No Life 'Til Leather" demo by Metallica, this song is on it. When Dave was booted from Metallica, Metallica changed the name, lyrics, and added in a middle part. Dave later put the song on Megadeth's debut album, and he sped it up about 80 BPM. It's Dave Mustaine's song.
