Just over two weeks earlier July 28th it entered Billboard's Top 100 chart; and on September 1st it peaked at #1 {for 2 weeks} and spent 14 weeks on the Top 100... It also reached #1 in Canada & Australia and #3 on the United Kingdom's Singles chart... He originally recorded it in 1960; as Tommy Roe and the Satins, that version never charted... R.I.P. Mr. Clark...
