Ah for the days of real music. Thank goodness for you tube and loyal true music fans. Howard Keel was my celebrity partner on the pilot for Name that Tune back in the seventies. he was superb. I loved seeing him in Calamity Jane with Doris Day. Great voice! He is missed. RIP, Mr. Keel.

Oh, lakotasioux don't let lives and visions which are wretched, blighted and sterile stop you from sharing. Whatever Keel sang became one of the definitive versions if not the only definitive performance. Got to see him onstage in Show Boat once long ago. Was a terrific (and treasured) event. Please ignore the hopeless, they'll go to their graves as empty as they are now.

He was born to sing. His voice is a natural gift, however, when he started with the studios, they insisted on voice coaches, as they did back then with all their singers. Singers run in my family, Howard Keel being just one of them. I seem to be the only one who doesn't sing.
