Cheers blacksabsfan. It should be pointed out that it's more than likely the Vagabonds album was recorded and finished before this BBC gig - and it's probable that they'd just written Suicide and the album was already recorded without it.

Yeah, you're right. I've made a few other mistakes on some of these BBC Session tracks. When I acquired them I had no idea on any dates or which session was which one. I think Lizzy did like 6 sessions span from mid 1973 to late 1974. I've known now, but never got around to fixing the info files to use YouTube clips. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, and if you notice any other screwups let me know and I'll correct them.

This is before Vagabonds was released. It was recorded 26th July 1973 and was broadcast 1st September. The Vagabonds album came out later that month (September) I remember because we were really disappointed with 'Slow blues' on the album compared to the different arrangement on the BBC gig where Eric Bell does an incredible guitar solo right at the end. We were also disappointed that Suicide wasn't on the album. I saw them at Sunderland Mecca June 22nd 1973 - started off with this - Brilliant!

I have one of Slow Blues from the BBC. I don't have one of Mama Nature Said. I don't think the latter was played live.

Eric Bell was class as were most Lizzy guitarists. Another gem of a live performance. More power to your elbow for posting this.

Well, this was done for TV or Radio, so this is obviously going to be better than an audience recording. Audience recordings can greatly vary when it comes to quality because of the equipment used, the location of the person recording, and even the settings the recorder uses. Everyone does it differently so you get mixed results. Even today you can record a concert and it could turn out amazingly shitty, so the time factor isn't a big deal. It does suck, but poor quality is better than nothing.

Thanks, man. I think Eric is a shamefully under-appreciated guitarist. These guys were just TIGHT as 3-piece. And ya gotta love the little "Shave 'n' a haircut" tag!
