At Rockpalast in Germany, Lynott and Lizzy unleash an early version of "Angel of Death", known simply as "Disaster" at this time. As far as I know, this was the first time this song was performed live, and it was performed as an encore for this show. It would still be another two/three months before Renegade would come out. Many lyrics are different in this version and obviously Lynott had not decided exactly what he wanted to sing for this song. Enjoy this neat alternate version!

@jason42172 I bow in your honor. I was born a little too late to experience the 70's British rock at its best (I'm 41). This would have been the BEST show to see. And to think what Phil and the boys could have done for the rest of the 80's had he not died. They would have ruled with Sykes on board.14 years ago

There's a copy of the Slane gig in circulation, but it's incomplete and of low-quality. It cuts off about 2/3 of the way through the concert, so its very possible that Angel of Death/Disaster, was included at the end of the set. There's a full recording of the Milton Keynes gig too, and this song isn't on it. If I remember correctly, they actually played "The Rocker" as an encore at the Milton Keynes gig, which is sort of a surprise.15 years ago

Blacksab, I remember they done this at Slane on the 16/08/81. They played at Milton Keynes before that, whether they included it there I don't know. I had a copy of the Slane gig on tape but long since gone.15 years ago
