The Smithereens were (are) #1 in my music list. During the mid to late 80's "Especially For You" was the soundtrack to my life. I'm dedicating this video, I Don't Want To Lose You, to a dear friend who is long gone, but never forgotten. We used to camp out in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park (California) and I'd be playing the Smithereens on a ratty old cassette/radio player (anyone remember THOSE? LOL) while we sat around campfires under the stars at night.

Pat DiNizio is one of the most underrated songwriters of all times. The man has a way with melody and hooks. Love you man.

This album clears my headspace like only few can. I'm not a naturally optimistic person, but this record manages to remind me that things don't suck quite as much as they seem to. Total joy.

Seen them at Headliners in Madison Wisconsin in '86 and than again in '88 in Menomenee, Wisconsin. Great band. Great music.

The first four/five Smithereens albums are the types you can just listen to all the way through. Great stuff...
