"In 1977 it was The Residents again who produced the first unequivocal 100%plunder to come out of pop, following in the high art footsteps of James Tenney'sPresley-based Collage No.1, and the later, more successful 1975 work Omaggio aJerry Lee Lewis by American composer Richard Trythall (plundered from variousrecordings of Lewis's Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On). Trythall comments: 'Like thetable or newspaper in a cubist painting, the familiar musical object served thelistener as an orientation point within a maze of new material... the studiomanipulations... carried the source material into new, unexpected areas, whilemaintaining its past associations' (programme note on ReR CMCD). The Residents'work was a 7 inch single titled Beyond The Valley Of A Day In The Life andsubtitled 'The Residents Play The Beatles/The Beatles Play The Residents'. It camepackaged as an art object in a numbered, limited edition and hand-silkscreenedcover, but was sold to - and known by - a rock public. One side of this single was acover version of The Beatles song Flying. The other was pure plunderphonics. Thiswhole side was assembled from extracts dubbed off Beatles records, looped, multitracked, composed with razor blades and tape. It is an ingenious construction, and remains a landmark." from "Plunderphonia"

@anonymouswillnotstop This song can be found on the CD release of their third album, "Third Reich and Roll". It's the last Bonus Track. The voice at the end reprises a John Lennon quote from the cut before; an original piece composed of Beatles clips. Oh, their cover of "Satisfaction", is another bonus track on that CD.
