To Red PandaDon't listen to that kind of foolishness. I would like to know why you classify certain things as "No Wave" ?I am being most sincere. Please help me understand how The Pop Group could even be seen as such. Help me understand why such a term is still in use. Having been quite familiar with "those" bands all I know is that the one thing they had in common was really nothing other than originality, audacity, and much more importantly A TIME AND A PLACE. it seems Geography and Chronology are sufficient modifiers as long as the principals are spoken for , in detail or am I wrong.

The more attention to detail something begs the better it is to me (most of the time). To VarnaVix , I apologize I meant to say feculent. Something like The Pop Group defies labels. It's not like "Classical" is to Mozart... I think shows very little appreciation for what they did if the term "No Wave" enters your head. If I understand it right Nowave is anti-New Wave (the Contortions,DNA,etc) and I think it's obvious this is above all of that in the same way This Heat isn't "Postpunk" (that would be a chronological misnomer). "Micro-Genres" hurt aesthetics. They speed up the rate of decay for any given object or offering for or to the senses and or intellect. I feel something like this should be given space, to be taken in on its own. To me it's pretty simple. "Post Rock" maybe... But I believe someone made a seemingly uneducated and negative comment in regard to this song (band): "Nowave-Emperor's New clothes"?? Sorry for taking up for something I think is really good. My statement primarily dealt with that part of the comment. It seemed as if they're in their 20's and read a Trouser Press for the first time or something...

Why is it so offensive to use the term "No Wave"? Many artists dislike labels, but ultimately they do serve a purpose in describing stylistic movements and linking groups that share common themes and history. It certainly seems no worse than referring to Mozart or Beethoven as "Classical." Also, I think you may not have the correct definition of the word fecund, it makes your sentence rather confusing.
