I wish Eddie would have talked more about what he did with this track. There are tons of effects and backwards guitar all over the track. It would be cool to hear how the backwards guitars sounded originally before Eddie turned them upside down!

I think Chas was very important for Jimi's career. He made him sing and write songs. He made Jimi feel welcome and important and grounded. On the other hand when Jimi really became more confident and experimental Chas was lost and wanted to stick to the 3 minute songs and cutting down studio time. If Jimi had listened to Chas, he would never have made songs like 1983. He might have lived longer but that is all just guessing.

Jimi maybe not have been a great singer , but boy could he tell a damn story so well , and with such an amazing picture , he used the guitar to paint that picture for all of us and did the best job i've ever heard anyone do.
