This is not the "Don't You Want Me" Human League that most people are aware of. I feel that this would be a nice share within this community. What do you think?

nearly 40 years on- and the Future still sounds like the future-

fantastic indeed, those were the days, majors then still too busy with the ramones and phoebe snow to dig this

sounds to me like it's meant to be sinister, but it really isn't, maybe they had paedophobia :)

non-conventional; that's probably what HL were going for.

kinda interesting as far as sounddesign goes, but i was listening also to the other songs from that album and i don't hear "songs", i hear only experiments.

I wonder how embarrassed they are about putting the non-creepy sound of a little girl/boy singing with background atmospheric synth sounds as if she sounds like a child of the corn or something, it's cute if anything, very silly

when did this come out?

I don't agree Dare is a synthpop classic... Rushent did a remarkable job and personally i grew up with it - Obviously i prefer the sound of The Future or the first HL but it's one of the few cases where a commercial twist didn't mean they sold out imho.

those little girl / boy samples return on other songs by the future and also on some of the clock dva tapes just reissued on vod - i would recognize them among thousands... ^^

one of my favourite collection ever - also Soft Cell had a similar experimental technoid past (before the albums and the fame) - check out The Bedsit Tapes collection that came out some years ago... mandatory buy . i just read this line of Mr Newton on the recent Clock Dva box on VOD talking about this project: "we wanted to provide a disco-beat, that you had to dance to because the infrasound soundwaves jolted your whole body beyond your control..." ... perfect words for The Future's music.

I love this song, I can't get enough of it ... but why is there a little girl singing at the end!?!? nothing could be more contrasting with the song itself.
