Levi Stubbs, like Ray Charles and James Brown, had a very melodious voice, this song is a perfect example. But, it seemed that many great voices wentpermanently 'horse'. This is a great example of a wonderful voice sing a prefectsong. And the Shivaree set is marvelous. It showed the best of our generation,no phony 'set ups' it was all real.

It's sad to see what black talent existed in the past that is nowhere to be found nowadays.

The 60's were a musical and lyrical decade for the ages and I am so glad I was there and of my youth. I wouldn't trade a moment of that time in my life for all the tomorrows you could offer.

What I love about these guys is that they stayed together longer than any Group out there, even longer than The Temptations, The Stones and even The Beach Boys. Sadly only Abdul "Duke" Fakir is still alive.
